Moving Mountains
2 Timothy 2:3-4, "Share in the suffering as a good soldier of Christ.  No soldier gets engaged in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him."

One of the most admirable qualities of a soldier is his resilience against all forms of adversity — he remains calm, wise, and humble; and he shares in suffering with his brothers in arms.  In the wisdom of the soldier, he is not concerned with the pursuits of civilian life.  Rather, he is concerned about serving his country and doing what his commanding officer commands him to do.  As a U.S. Army veteran, I know this.  It is the same with the Christian.  Remain resilient against our inevitable suffering for the message of Christ in which we preach, sharing your suffering with brothers and sisters in Christ, comforting one another (2 Corinthians 1:4-5).  Do not be concerned with the pursuits of the unbeliever, but serve and please our Creator, obeying His commands.  How is this mission done?  By "[making] disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that [Jesus] has commanded [us]" (Matthew 28:19-20a).

We are all soldiers of Christ. The battles we face are not those wars composed of bombs, guns and other army weapons. The battles we face are the challenges we encounter. Never ever forget that the only weapon we need to have is the help of God. Through Him, we can overcome every single battle we may encounter. Do not be afraid. God is with us.

"Keep your head up. God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers".-anonymous. Have faith in God. He gives us challenges that he knows we can face. This is to remind us to keep on holding on to him. These challenges will make you more stronger and wiser.

We are all soldiers of Christ and the battles we face all came from Him. These battles are not meant to break us, but it's there to strengthen us. God wouldn't give us problems we cannot overcome that is why we need to trust Him in everything that He gives. I know that facing problems is a bit challenging and you might have the thought of quitting. But please think that God is bigger than all these battles we are supposed to face!

I am illuminated by your information. Resilience of faith for the country and for the Lord has similarities and differences. However, I like what you have given your example. I somehow get the point that qualities of a soldier is similar to the Son of God. They fight for what they strongly believe and for them to eliminate their enemies. There will be also little in faith, so, we need them to motivate and to understand that God loves him. Let us help to be firm in the Lord and together we praise and build the army of God.
